It's a shame it's such a short series, really...

Sherlock liveblog.

So. Usually I think Martin Freeman looks like Simon Pegg, who in turn looks like John Simm. But here, Martin himself looks like John. And this opening scene is very Life on Mars reminiscent, with the music and the lighting and the framing.

I have a feeling I am going to love this show. Yeah, yeah, we've made it to the opening credits only, but so far it's looking like the well-shot, well-acted kind of thing I usually adore. Also, Martin. And then you have the writing creds, which are really very promising (I am going to forget everything that was shit about Jekyll.)

Okay, that was an interesting technique. (Wrong!) I quite like it. Probably easier to do than half a dozen pick-ups, too.

I always think of Martin as being much younger than he's playing here. I guess he's deliberately playing old, but he's older than I think of him as too.

I've never seen Benedict with longer hair like this. He looks really good.

Haha! Sherlock's a dick and I love him.

There's going to be so much slash fiction written about this particular incarnation of these two. So, so much.

I've always thought Benedict would be an awesome older-Merlin (as in fun, goofy tv show version Merlin.) He isn't doing anything here to dissuade me otherwise.

HAHAHAHAHAH! HAAAAAAA! :D :D :D (Three guesses, guys. Three guesses as to why I'm delighted.)

Hardly any seduction needed :D!

This soundtrack is properly fabulous.

And here, of course, we have Psych (which is, in itself, a pastiche of Sherlock Holmes.)

He was sliiiiightly wrong, yay!

This is reminding me of Jekyll, which is not a good thing. (Yes, I said I'd forget. I lied.)

I really do like Mark Gatiss, though. What's the betting he's not Moriarty?

... considering the fact I just read an interview that said 'Sherlock and Watson aren't gay', they sure do keep making jokes that they are.

:D :D :D "Pity, we could have split the fee, think it through next time."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAA! :D This show is making me break out my grinny-face a lot. This is as blatant and brilliant as "do you find me attractive?" and "sure you're in?"/"deal me." I do like it when the text isn't exactly sub.

It's the cab driver.

Watson, darling, your limp really was psychosomatic.

Giggling! Oh man.

Okay. I figured that out minutes ago. I am as smart as Sherlock Holmes, clearly.

This is all a bit boring. I love Phil Davis, but, yes, boring. I preferred it when there was running through London streets.

The only problem with this kind of tension is the fact this show isn't called Watson and Sherlock [Deceased]. It's terribly bad form to kill your eponymous hero in the first episode, so it's not going to happen.

Daaaaaaaaate. :D

KNEW IT. Knew Gatiss wasn't Moriarty.

Not sure how I feel about Watson not even having been shot in the leg.

My review?: GIGANTIC GRINNY FACE. :D It was fun! Veered alarmingly in a Jekyll direction on occasion, and I hope next time the case is a genuine mystery. But fun! And slashtacular!

Now that I have found it, yes, yes it was! I loooove Martin Freeman.

That conversation in the restaurant was beautiful. I love this show - I loved it from the very start. It's fun, it's gorgeous, the music's wonderful.... I can't believe there are only three episodes :-(

It was, wasn't it? I'd type about how awesome it was and then it would get better.

I've heard so much good about this show in the last two days that I've just got to get hold of it. *sigh* And just when I thought I was getting on top of my unwatched DVD collection, too!

Do you need help to get hold of it?

If you're offering, only if it's no trouble. And is there anything you'd like in exchange?

I thought the opening was from Hot Fuzz, with the injury and the adjusting, and Martin Freeman!Simon Pegg.

And yeah, I read the "not gay" interview. Just because they enjoy the banter, having candle-lit dinners, making each other giggle... that's what bromance is about isn't it?

I'm a little worried. My mum missed the gayness here! Yet she was the one who made me sporfle when we watched RDJ's Sherlock Holmes and she whispered in the crowded movie theatre "bromance". Yet she doesn't see it here. Strange.

Yeah. Phil Davies explaining was oddly dull, which was strange cos I love the actor, I just didn't care about the serial killer cabbie. Only Sherlock should be allowed to monologue, a million words a minute.

Yes, you are smart. It is a burden. But at least this held more mystery than the Rupert Everett Holmes. You do not need to be Sherlock Holmes to follow the trail from a nose bleed!!!

But Sherlock, Sherlock is so awesome. I love the characters, and that's what will keep me watching. <3

Yes, Hot Fuzz too, but, you see, that part in HF? Reminds me of LoM :D

I really enjoyed the episode.
