I am watching the first episode of The Big Bang Theory and these are the things I notice:
How did I not know the theme-tune was by BNL? (Maybe because I never heard it before? I often feel like I fail in my BNL fannishness. I didn't know about their kids album until a year after it was out, and I didn't know Steven left the group until January this year - which I am heartbroken about, by the way. I listen to their music all the time, and don't know a thing about them.)
Does anyone else find Leonard very reminiscent of a grown-up Gavin from Kids in the Hall? It's his intonation more than anything. And I am now thinking of that sketch where Gavin was in love with his babysitter. The exact same expressions played on his face as when Leonard is looking at Penny.
I like Sheldon's t-shirts. I want Sheldon's t-shirts.
Raj is crazy goodlooking. I mean, they all are, really, but he is totally hot (hi, in my absence you forgot how shallow and boy-crazy I am, didn't you? Oh, your answer's no?)
I realise that I am enough of a geek that I relate to a lot of Sheldon and Leonard's behaviour, lack of etiquette, and love of certain media, but not enough of a nerd that I understand anything they say when they're spouting scientific theory. This has always been a slight source of consternation for me --- I have all of the tendencies and none of the brains. (Please to be recognising that my tongue is planted firmly in my cheek when using these labels, although the sentiment still holds true.)
Also, I may or may not be having a love affair with brackets. (I speak like this in person, too. Everything in brackets is said in a slightly lower and hushed tone; a Homer Simpson whisper, if you will.)
