Call me easy, but I LOVED this episode. I like Merlin when it's stupid and funny and doesn't take itself even close to seriously. Basically, I am 12 years old and love the same things 12 year olds love. I was thoroughly enjoying squirming at the grossness.
I like it when Arthur is shown as being an honourable and just man. (Could he be any more awesome? Yes, he actually can!)
I like it when Uther has maximum screentime and Tony Head brings it.
I like it when Merlin is competent and not just the comic relief.
I like it when we get to see the Slash Dragon.
And that last scene? BEST SCENE OF THE SERIES, EASILY. OMG. MERLIN THOUGHT THEY WERE GOING FOR A HUG. THERE'S THE LONG PAUSE AND HANDS GOING SLOWLY DOWN, THE EXPRESSIONS. Oh, boys.
(I like it when there's Merlin/Arthur subtext, what can I say? I'm easy.)
