Once I thought my innocence was gone...

I have inexplicably become addicted to buying books on Amazon. My package arrived today. I haven't read a word. And yet, here I am, already choosing a new lot to be winged (wung?) my way. I think it's because I feel that if I spend the money on buying the books, I'll have to read them. Also, I like spending money.

So. Books I acquired last time that I've never read before are as follows: Good Omens, Wicked, Stardust and Cat Among the Pigeons. I also bought an old favourite (my very favourite, actually, so it's odd I don't already have it), 1984.

In my cart now are The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, The Time Traveller's Wife, Sad Cypress, Dead Man's Folly, A Caribbean Mystery, Three Act Tragedy, The End of Mr Y (which I just, amusingly, read is apparently 'chick lit for nerds') and Making Money.

It is, actually, a little terrifying how poorly read I am. I've tackled a great deal of Dickens, pored over Shakespeare. I'm obviously a big Agatha Christie fan. But I stopped reading compulsively (or, indeed, at all) 8 years ago.

Any recommendations?

(Please don't comment on the books I've already bought - I'm the same way with books as I am with films - I like to know as little as possible about them or other people's reactions to them and dive right in.)
