He started with the "Polkarama!" and went on to do "Canadian Idiot". He then did some of his other songs (I can't quite remember the exact playlist.) There was a fifteen minute medley, including a song I hadn't heard before which was about the pure, pure love between Gilligan and the Skipper. He did most of his classics and several from his latest album. "White and Nerdy" was brilliant. He came in on a Segway! The whole concert was really just so much fun. Like last time, everyone sang along to "The Saga Begins."
The encore was "we all have cell phones, so come on let's get real" - the lyrics of which were 'penned' by Michael Stipe - for that, everyone got out their mobile phone and waved in time to the music. It was a truly beautiful moment. I had mum's mobile, so I got to join in. Al's second encore was "Albuquerque", which I have to admit, I don't actually like as a song - but I am more than slightly impressed at his ability to remember all of the lyrics.
Al has an amazing vocal range. I was absolutely astounded by the high notes he did at the end of "Wanna B Ur Lovr". Al can also still kick scarily high. And his ability to dance in a fat suit is awesome.
Nick and I really enjoyed ourselves.
