End of Year Concert Shenanigans...

I don't know whether it's because I'm a masochist, or easily led, or what - but the song which I'm doing as a solo at the end of year concert has somehow transmogrified into River Deep, Mountain High, which is neither Beatles nor remotely easy to sing - especially since my singing instructor Sarah wants me to do it in my natural voice and yell. I suggested a version in the style of Marilyn Monroe, but she declined.

This is week one of practicing, and let me say, it's scary stuff.

Here - listen for yourself to me singing the last part of the song;
Loz - River Deep, Mountain High
Warning: May cause your ears to bleed. Really, it's appallingly bad. Make sure you have the sound turned down.

Yeah. It's a powerful, powerful song - and you may have noticed - whilst I can project my voice, I also have the high lilt of a twelve-year old. I am no Tina Turner or Jimmy Barnes. I'm not even Tina Barnes.

Oh, for the love of God. The worst thing is that I will never, ever back down from this. A challenge has been set and I shall conquer it. My poor family is going to be listening to a lot of me for the next few weeks. Oh dear.
