Timezones annoy me, quite a lot actually. In the days when I would be up 24 hours, they didn't matter to me much at all. I could talk to my British friends, I could talk to my American friends, all in close-to-real time. Now my friendships are conducted through heavily filtered channels, divided by the time it takes to respond, depending on where you are, what you're doing, what time of day it is.

I wake up and my friends list has exploded because Pluto got demoted or something equally interesting, but by the time it's my turn to say something, everything's already been said (but you'll notice that rarely stops me from repeating ad nauseum.) I post and I get to wait several hours for respondants to wake up, climb out of bed, get their ritual coffee, and type me a little message - by which time I am likely sleeping.

So yes, a pox on timezones, and a pox on me being hindered by them.
