In fact, today, I am amused. Nick and I have had a long standing discussion on how, exactly, you say the "Gross" of Paul Gross. Is it Gross to rhyme with Ross? Or Gross to imperfectly rhyme with most? This may seem silly, but I've known two people with the same name who said it entirely differently. I concluded that we'd have to hear Paul say his own name before we had any definite idea. And thanks to this we have now. Gross that imperfectly rhymes with most. Nick wins.
Pronunciation of names is tricky. I tend to think you should always say someone's name the way they say it, even if you essentially think they're wrong. Pronunciation is also always amusing. Especially when there are some people who claim they don't have accents. Everyone has an accent.
That was delightfully pointless.
