Day 14 - Favorite male character

Uh... I have lots. Like, seriously, a bucketload. It depends what effect you want me to demonstrate.

So, Mr. Carter from Cranford is probably the most swoonsome character ever (followed VERY closely by Fitzwilliam Darcy in the 1995 Pride and Prejudice.) John Crichton and Sam Tyler both ping my 'fish out of water' button --- have me empathising and being fascinated in, and adoring all at once. I'm more mad about both Arthur and Merlin from BBC's Merlin than I ever admit. Timothy McGee, Anthony DiNozzo, Tim Bisley, Maurice Moss, Sheldon Cooper all make me happy for completely different reasons. Dexter Morgan, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Bender Bending Rodriguez, Gene Hunt, Rodney McKay and to large extents Shawn Spencer are the characters I love despite (and because of) their massive, massive flaws. I have serious love for David Suchet's portrayal of Hercule Poirot. And there will always be a part of me who thinks Spike Thomson from Press Gang was the greatest.

I can't choose.

But it's probably Sam. Something about Sam crawled under my skin and won't let go. I'm most likely one of his harshest critics and yet --- he is my character --- the one that speaks to me on every level.
