Loz Moo

And if a double decker bus crashes into us...

So. Harry Potter. I used to be insanely fannish about it, as many of you would attest. But, for whatever reasons, Half Blood Prince nailed the final screw in the coffin for my devotion. It's not that I don't love Harry, because, you know, I really do. I don't stop loving all that easily. I just can't find myself caring in that specific way to give the series any of my time or energy. I completely forgot that DH was coming out this weekend, until I read my friends list. Understandable because of real life, perhaps, but not considering I'd had a giant clock on my monitor for the release of HBP.

After finding myself being excited about the finales for all of the things I've been a fan of lately, and then being horribly, terribly disappointed by all of them in some way or another, I've decided to not have any expectations this time around. Not even that it will be remotely good. Because that bit me on the arse, with a certain brilliant text - and yes, okay, so a large part of that was me - but that's the point I'm trying to make, I think.

What am I trying to say, here? Er, I guess that I'm shielding myself from disappointment.
