Sometimes you have to treat people unequally to be equitable...

August 2005 was a month where every single day had one or more (usually more, often four) livejournal entries from me. It is so far the only month this year with this to its credit, and in fact I think it may be the only entire month since I started my LJ with this most dubious of honours. I think I've managed to get myself back into that moment where I'm supporting my emotional and intellectual wellbeing with the internet. Though the bursts of creativity - as small and self contained as they are, have been extremely welcome.

I enjoyed my morning class of Teaching to Special Needs. Next is Science. I'm off to do some reading.

Listening to a cover by a band called Cake of a song by Bread...

Cake - End of the Movie

People you love
Will turn their backs on you
You'll lose your hair
Your teeth
Your knife will fall out of its sheath
But you still don't like to leave before the end of the movie
People you hate will get their hooks into you
They'll pull you down
You'll frown
They'll tar you and drag you through town
But you still don't like to leave before the end of the movie
No you still don't like to leave before the end of the show
People you hate will get their hooks into you
They'll pull you down
You'll frown
They'll tar you and drag you through town
But you still don't like to leave before the end of the movie
No you still don't like to leave before the end of the show

I love this song. It has great guitar work, which is always excellent. I actually don't know much about the band Cake. I have the album Pressure Chief and various songs of theirs - and in general I find myself listening to them exceedingly often... but as far as knowing anything about them - I'm pretty deficient of knowledge. Or at least I was until I googled them, and now I find I was better not knowing.

In fact, I find this about most of the musical artists I like and listen to regularly, I don't know a thing about them... like when foolieonthehill told me Rufus Wainwright was Canadian I was shocked (and amused, because of course), and vitriolfan told me 'Architecture in Helsinki' were Australian I was likewise surprised. Or when I discovered at the age of 16, after Queen had been my favourite band for a good 12 years, that Freddie Mercury wasn't his real name!

I often look up actors I like, so why not the musical artists? I wonder.
