Loz Cola

The Prime Minister is on A Current Affair, talking about why he has legislated against Same-Sex Marriage. The interviewer, Ray Martin, isn't doing anything, he isn't asking the right questions. It sickens me.

This is one of the reasons I disagree with our current Government. He keeps going on about marriage being "a union between a man and a woman", saying that is the fundamental definition, therefore the correct one, that has been that way since the beginning and should continue that way. He doesn't think legislating against a same-sex marriage is discrimination.

Yet marriage once meant that the woman was legally the possession of the man. The woman gave up everything for the man - had no property, no power, nothing but that which her husband chose to give her. The definition of marriage has already - rightfully - changed.

Perhaps I am too tolerant, but I see no problems with same-sex marriage.

Now that I've finished ranting, Howard's gone offscreen and Frasier is on.
