Loz Cola

(No, really, I actually do.)

*clapping wildly*

It was so much fun going through my copious amounts of caps to find appropriate pictures. The hard part? Picking and choosing which ones to use, so that the prat didn't end up with 200 scenes of pure Sam/Gene loving. :D
6th-Oct-2013 11:50 pm (UTC)
Love what you did there. So good.
6th-Oct-2013 03:10 pm (UTC)

Ah but the true beauty here is how you managed to express you incandescent rage through a humorous bent while her original post is much more ranty. ♥

After a quick glance at her Tumblr I also can't process her rantiness at all as she doesn't appear to be anti-slash.
6th-Oct-2013 03:16 pm (UTC)
The "it makes no sense" people have always managed to get my goat (my multiple goats, really; the whole kid farm), because, DUDE, it makes absolute sense in a platonic way, so why *couldn't* it sexually?

They're practically Maddie and David, y'know, in terms of the whole opposites attract thing? And how many rom coms start out like that? ALMOST EVERY SINGLE ONE.
6th-Oct-2013 03:21 pm (UTC)

I can sort of understand where the "I don't see slash at all" crowd is coming from because not everyone sees it but once they do see the slash the "it makes no sense" comment pisses me off too when, as you say, the developing relationship is there and SO BLOODY VISIBLE on screen.

Gigantic slash ships are based on a hell of a lot less like the Coulson/Barton ship.

It really wouldn't have bothered me at all if she'd phrased it as *she* couldn't see it.

6th-Oct-2013 03:26 pm (UTC)
Exactly. It's the superiority of 'did you watch the show' that annoyed me. I really have no problem with people not shipping what I ship. That arch suggestion that one person is the sole arbiter of what makes sense and should be viewed in the source material really does piss me off.

... I am glad I'm not the only one who's been wondering a bit about how Coulson/Barton is such a juggernaut ship. I always assumed it was comics-based.
6th-Oct-2013 03:37 pm (UTC)

I'm told not by my comic book reading mates. As one of them put it "it's based on 2 minutes of screen time, mostly in Thor."

I suspect it stems from the whole angst of Hawkeye being the indirect cause of Coulson's death.

Shippers gonna ship. :D
6th-Oct-2013 10:47 pm (UTC)
I love that shippers ship all the things, even the things I don't see or like or ship. I love the enthusiasm. It's when those shippers go up against each other that I feel sad.
6th-Oct-2013 10:51 pm (UTC)

I really don't understand shipping wars, never have.

But then I've also never understood character hate based on the fact that it might block a ship that isn't canon anyway, like the way some of the Reese/Carter fans have reacted to Shaw becoming a regular character on POI.

AWWW YISSSSS YOU DID. That is awesome. *clinks glasses with you*

<333 Thanks!

That, my dear Loz, was beautiful. <3

Thanks :D

Your Tumblr responses...... You deserve SO MUCH APPLAUSE <3333333333

I take my hat off to you.

And continue drawing some slash ohohoho

(The best thing is that if you scroll through their blog, they've reblogged some Johnlock and just a post or two back from their Sam/Gene rant is a picture of a lollipop with "Butt flavour" written on)

HDU, Watson is canonically married and Sherlock *says* he's not interested in John although he's flattered.

Get out and take your filthy imagination with you!

Yeah, I think, sadly, they were trolling. What a strange fandom to troll.

:D <333 Thanks!

Oh, Loz. I've been watching this one on the tumblr. Part of me is cheering wildly. part of me is facepalming because don't exchange the trolls who punctuate dialogue incorrectly.

I don't actually ship Sam/Gene, but your post made me wish I did. =)
6th-Oct-2013 10:44 pm (UTC)
I'm pretty sad it's become clear it's a troll, to be honest. It was amusing when it was simply a moron.

Shipping Sam/Gene is fun, but not mandatory. I've always adored them as friends first and foremost. I just really don't like being told what to do, clearly.

:D Yeah. I already knew I could ramble on for hours about LoM. I never quite get over fandom loves, and I still consider myself in the fandom, albeit in a limited capacity these days. I lurk.
7th-Oct-2013 05:19 am (UTC)
Wait, she's a troll? *blinks* That's even more bizarre than her just being belligerently clueless. Kind of an odd choice of dungeon to wander into.

Still, all the applause for you and all your eloquent smackdowns. I was rather delighted to see your responses on my dashboard this afternoon. And I say this as someone who has always been somewhat wobbly on the subject of the Good Ship Sam/Gene.
7th-Oct-2013 06:06 am (UTC)
There's an element of trollery at play, but I don't know if I'd say they're an outright troll.

About 6 years ago I was all-gen-all-the-time, and I still sometimes sniffle to myself and wail "gen! my beloved gen!" I'm also a multi-shipper and have the capacity to ship all the things. I don't think a relationship has to be sexualised for it to be meaningful. But to act like viewing things in a different light is an affront really frustrates me, because it's so constricting.
