Loz Cola
The downfall, however, is when you've ordered four chicken burger patties, thinking you can freeze some, and they give you twenty-four and they're apparently unsuitable for freezing. What the hell am I going to do with 24 chicken burger patties?

Offer them to a neighbour with a large family and garner favour?

Build a little fort?

I like the fort idea.

Such a huge smile on my face!!!

I think I can cook half and freeze them and then find some way to get rid of the other dozen, somehow.

I vote for sharing them with the neighbours. (Especially the ones who've been getting your mail ;-)

Cooking 'em all is good, too. Chop them, cook them, and freeze in small batches for easy adding to homemade pasta sauce, soups and stews?

That is such a weird thank you gift. :D If someone turned up on my doorstep with that, I'd be giving them serious side-eyes.

Ha, you don't live where I do! We and our neighbours are always sharing surplus food with each other. Especially Gerry-down-the-hall, who is forever dropping by with plastic bags filled with his latest 'surplus' baking. Well, he's a generous soul... and he does know how to make a mean cheese-bacon scone ♥

I am the girl who'd buy everything online if given the chance. Human interaction? Blech.

What don't you do with 24 chicken burger patties?

It's probably because it's half past midnight and I'm exhausted, but the image of someone standing in their kitchen their arms overflowing with chicken burger patties, made me laugh so hard I woke my roommate.

:D You're so evil. They're in a packet. It wasn't just me with these armfuls of burgers. But the mental image you paint is hilarious to me.

Nope, not here! And yes, it was for the price of four. I think it's because there was another item they couldn't provide me with, so instead of reimbursing me the $6 or so, they made it up in a bulk order of burger patties. Which would be cromulent if not for the whole what do I do now? aspect.

I was going to say "eh, if it'll fit in the freezer, it's freezable" then I remembered that chicken's one of those things that's up for consideration for the top 5 list of commonly home-cooked and consumed foods most likely to give you food poisoning if you don't cook them properly, and my argument that being a vegetarian is convenient is totally valid.

Pre-cook, cool, then freeze is a better option, if I understand correctly :-D And defrost and heat thoroughly!

You can always be glad you didn't stumble because of ill and step on a plug hard enough to shave out a chunk of skin from the sole of your foot and draw blood though? Coz that is thoroughly unpleasant.

I offer the above visual in exchange for the ones the comments on this post have given me, in which you reform the patties into a model fort, leave it on the neigbour's doorstep with a thank you note flag, ring the doorbell, then run away and hide.

(Sorry, I love you, but my brain's in that surreal place where it's probably good I have laryngitis and nobody can hear me. And possibly a devastating blow to my company that they recently installed an IM client on all our computers...)

Haha, oh Miri, your mind <333

How are you feeling today? I feel like last time we had a chat you weren't well. :(

I'm not too bad, honestly - I've not needed any time off work with it, anyway; I just have no voice, a sore throat and feel a bit run down, with a side of random brain associations happening. On the plus side, either it's being accompanied by evil insomnia, or this could actually just be a side effect of my body undergoing some sort of metamorphosis from which it will emerge no longer needing to sleep...

I mainly spent the weekend reading comics online. It was a good weekend!

How are you? :-)
