Oh, God, the list is huge. Queued up I have The Thick of It, Mongrels and Deadwood. I plan at some point to watch Durham County, Flashpoint, The Wire and Treme. I seem to add a new tv show I want to watch every week or so.

Hee, my TV list is insane. Not nearly as insane as the book list, of course, but it's is long. I hope you like TTOI and Deadwood. With The Wire and Treme, I would put them far down the list if you aren't up for something emotionally draining. Though, they both can be quite joyful at times.

Oh, and The Thick of It is often cringe inducing. But I don't think it's as cringe-y as something like Peep Show or either version of The Office.

I thought of another six shortly after making this post. :/

Re: drama, I'm thinking I need to move a little bit out of my bubble. I may find it cathartic.

Durham County is unlike a lot of shows on television; super-dark but intriguingly original. I've seen season 1 of The Wire and it's (almost) as technically good as people imply, but not conducive to casual watching—there's one dense storyline that stretches across the episodes (pretty much the opposite of the one-case-solved-in-one-hour model of procedural dramas). I really need to catch up on Treme, but the music was good in the first few episodes? /rambly input

Ahhh, the benefits of being a mainliner :D I don't generally casually watch anything any more. (I usually prefer a series to a serial, but if the serial is well-plotted, I am fully capable of falling in love.)

Thanks for your input!
