I've had 'waltzing Matilda' stuck in my head for three hours...

I was tagged by dorcas_gustine.

1. Post these rules.
2. Each tagged person must post 8 things about their selves on their journal.
3. At the end, you have to choose and tag 8 people.
4. No tag-backs.

1. I haven't broken any bones yet, even though I've fallen over and off things plenty of times. I don't drink a whole lot of milk, but I do eat a fair amount of cheese, so I guess my calcium levels are fairly high and my bones strong.

2. I can sing 'Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes' in Pitjantjatjara.

3. I don't read much fan fiction. I write far more than I ever read. I realise this is bad of me. I don't really have the 'oooh, I must track down [insert fandom here] fic' drive that other people get when they get into fannish sources. I do occasionally get 'oooh, I must write [insert fandom here] fic' urges, and sometimes fulfill them. I'm still not entirely sure why I am like this.

4. I have a huge friendship kink. The snarkier the friends, the better. Sam & Gene? YAY! Shawn & Gus? YAY. George & Mitchell? YAY! Merlin & Arthur? Apparently, YAY. It's the friendship aspect of a couple that will get me liking them, but I also enjoy the snarky wariness in some couples. (Like Chuck & Casey!)

5. I identify as straight, but I'm fairly open minded when it comes to sexuality. In the sense that if I fell for a woman, I wouldn't freak out. I can appreciate the female form and have a few actresses and singers on a list that I would 'turn gay for'. I realise I am not all that unique in this respect.

6. I've had an original television show going on in my head for the past two years. [info]shadowhuntress recently informed me USA have greenlit a show that sounds uncannily similar to my tv show. I don't know whether to be sad they got there before me, or glad it's actually going to sort of happen. My show ended up in actual gay romance, which somehow I think won't happen with this one, so I still think I win.

7. I am kind of in love with the character of Ryan from the High School Musical films. I ask you never to repeat that again.

8. There are four tv shows I watch/have continued watching that I don't really like, but I kept/keep watching either in the hope they get better, in the hope they change slightly to suit my tastes, or to keep up with other fans. Three I'm upfront about; Doctor Who, Heroes and Dollhouse (I like aspects of all three, but generally come away with a grizzle or apathy.) One I don't want to mention, because piapiapiapiano will disown me.

I only tag those who want to do it.

I'm a sucker for memes; I'm in, if you like?

Ooh, yes!

Okay, done it!

Yay, thanks!

#6: Ooooohhhhh. I'll have to keep an eye on that. Is it supposed to come out in autumn?

This summer, actually, I believe. When Psych comes back (God, I miss Psych.)

Hmmm... The con man and the cop has been done quite a few times on American TV going back to Switch in the 70s with Robert Wagner. Of course, it's the details that make the difference... and that certainly explains [spoiler] in Chuck.

*snerk* I didn't think it was super original, but I did think it was a bit sad that it was a trope that had been picked up so recently. But dammit, in my fantasyland, I somehow managed to get my show up within the next 5 years.

*whistle*

Yay for friendship kinks, and I'm sorry, but #7- was Ryan the one in the video you showed me?
4th-May-2009 07:15 am (UTC)
OMG did I show you "hey, batter, batter, hey batter batter swing"? If so, then yes; he was the blond one.

I do not remember doing that. Hahahaha. I think I was overwhelmed by the gay.
4th-May-2009 07:32 am (UTC)
Yes! That was it.

I think we even had a conversation about the name Ryan being gay. I know of at least three gay Ryans, not including yours.
4th-May-2009 07:34 am (UTC)
It is a very gay sounding name. But not as much as Julian. Or Dominic.
4th-May-2009 07:58 pm (UTC)
Dude. Way after you told me years ago that Julian was a gay name, and way after I named you-know-who's ex-boyfriend Julian, I TOTALLY MET A BUDDHIST GAY JULIAN! He's in one of the districts I work with. Hahahahaha. I was amused.

What is it? I MUST KNOW!

And I bet you've broken your toes at least once so far in your life. A bad stubbing inevitably breaks a couple of toes.
4th-May-2009 09:18 am (UTC)
Um. Remember that thing I sent you?

Yeah. See, I liked aspects of it quite a lot, but would mostly wait for it to get funny.

:( I feel bad.

I haven't broken my toes, I don't think! I am fairly sure I would know I had, anyway.

Ah. I would never disown you over FotC. It's not the funniest series ever -- I just love it for what it is.

Also, I see there's a problem with Dreamwidth/LJ. I'm not piapiapiano on Dreamwidth, so my LJ username code leads nowhere.

I forgot to do the link properly.

I wish I could love it for what it is. I get the ethos of the humour. I genuinely love some songs. But I spent many episodes of the series thinking "this could be so much better." And that! The wasted potential! Grargh!

#6. Matthew Bomer is hot ... like Africa hot. I loved him in Chuck and I'm glad to see he's getting his own show. I hope, like you, that it is actually good. Like you I am sadly quite certain the two main characters will not turn out to be gay. Siiiiiiigh. Stupid American TV stuffs.
7th-May-2009 12:34 pm (UTC)
He is hot, and a good actor, too!

I think it should be good. USA do a pretty darn good of making more than decent shows on low budgets.
