Loz Cola
My older brother bought a place of his own, so for the first time in a year I have my house all to myself again. It is awesome. \o/

My parents and I helped him move yesterday and today I am in so much pain, it's incredible. I feel like I've been placed through a meat grinder. I also really, really want to drink some coke zero. I've been trying hard to quit soft drink, but damn, my body keeps telling me I shouldn't. I don't like the taste of coffee and my body wants caffeine.

Ooh, all on your own! What will you do?

Moving can be a ton of work. And it's often the kind where most of the tasks you're doing aren't that strenuous in the moment, so it takes a while to realize how hard you've pushed yourself physically.

I will walk around naked and if I want to, watch porn with the sound on!

Word on the moving. It's also something where you use lots of muscles you wouldn't necessarily?

A Me Party as Loz's house!

Yeah, you're putting specific, and sometimes unusual strains on your body.

...so is this where the younger one moves back in? *ducks* Seriously though congrats on getting your place back. \o/

Lots of athletes drink caffeine while exercising so perhaps your body knows something you don't?

<33333 That was the first joke my mother and I made, hahahah. :D

I think it's also going to take a lot of time to wean my body off the addiction.

Thank goodness he has his own place now.

I let myself have one Coke zero a day. Too much virtue is a vice and coffee really does suck.

Yes! I love my brothers, but it's brilliant to have my house back.

I have teeth reasons for wanting to quit soft drink, but wow is the one a day sounding tempting.

Congrats to you and your brother!

Do you ever get headaches? Start blaming the coke zero. That is how I cured myself of drinking soda. I never thought I would give up soda, and even when I was off caffeine for a while, I drank caffeine free soda. But I took the notion that the fizzy drinks were making my headaches worse, and suddenly didn't want another sip.

The caffeine, though. And the sore muscles. That made me wonder if one of those caffeinated workout supplements or OTC pain relievers with caffeine like Excedrin might help. Wouldn't hit the spot, maybe, but might be worth a try when you're feeling like ground meat.

I don't actually get many headaches. But I do have tooth problems because of my soda drinking.

The headache association caused me to form an aversion. If I had associated a tooth problem, that might have worked too, because I already want to bite the dental technician every time I am at the dentist. That event is only once or twice a year for me, though, so drinking soda would be causing a problem for a future self of mine, and one who is far enough into the future to feel like a stranger. Do your teeth hurt when you are drinking the soda?

Anyway, I hope you have recovered from the moving pains by now and are enjoying our abode on your own.

Totally sympathise on the aches and strains - we're gearing up to move and spending all hours either packing or painting - lots of lovely hot baths and a real sense of achievement do seem to help, though!

My bath is too small, but oh that sounds good.

Oooh, yay for having your privacy once more!

Re caffeine and exercise/aches and pains. The caffeine dilates your blood vessels and increases blood flow, doesn't it? Would that help with aching muscles?

Hmm, I don't know, um - does it? Either way I was very naughty and finally am back on the coke zero. I'll have to find another solution, though.

What about tea? You WERE born in England, after all!

Moving is something I've come to dread, partially for the physical strain, but more for the mental. It just never ends. And it's possible that bethje and I will have to move back to her mom's house soon, although we don't know for sure.

I drink tea! Tea doesn't have enough caffeine though.

I know enough to mostly keep off caffeine, just to avoid the detox, but I'm struggling with sugarless gum/Diet Sunkist as an addiction pattern I want to over-come on general principles and to try and clean out my system a bit more. Cold Turkey failed dismally and honestly, I need something to get through the misery here....but once I start a gum pack I literally cannot stop until it's all chewed out and then the sorbitol hits my gut and it the results ain't pretty.

Yeah, it's so hard, isn't it? I basically can't see coke zero without wanting it, even though it's caused me nothing but pain.
29th-Apr-2014 06:16 pm (UTC)
For me it's a mixture of boredom and anxiety and somehow sucking down a soda that has that little jolt of sweetness or chomping on the gum gets me through it, but I really want to get "cleaner" on that front. I managed when I had a week off, but at the Desk of Doom, it has to be a considered victory if I only have one soda and one pack of gum for the day.
