It's always a worry when a student has a lower grade at the end of the year than they did the middle of the year. You have to ask yourself; did you grade them too leniently the first time, was it that you were studying a topic in that subject they had more affinity with, or have they really regressed that much?

That happens to my students often enough if I have a grading period that includes mostly 3-D art after one that is mostly 2-D or the other way around. Are you excited to be getting to the end of the year?

Things happen with kids, just like adults. They lose focus, get distracted, are more interested in some lessons than others and some kids just aren't good finishers.

That's definitely what's happened with a couple of these little dudes.

Also, there may be something happening outside the classroom environment that they aren't dealing well with (pardon lousy sentence structure) either consciously or subconsciously that was not there earlier in the term.

Yes, I think that might be the case for a couple of these little creatures.
