Charlie Brooker
You guys, Charlie Brooker on Have I Got News For You looks so healthy and happy, I cannot even deal. I love his ridiculous hair, his obvious admiration/bafflement of Shatner, and his way of leaning forward at the desk, om nom nom. Meanwhile, all of the Trek references were warming my geeky doesn't-take-itself-at-all-seriously heart. (Everyone seemed to be having the most fun. It was all adorable.) SHATNER DID ROCKET MAN, OMFG, OMFG. I just love him, love that he has learned to embrace and relish the mockery. Andy Hamilton's genius was also pleasing me. Basically, A+++++, would LMFAO again.

Initially I thought it was going to be a poor episode, but it was brilliant: Trekky references, no-one taking them seriously. And the songs. Quite a few of the recent programmes that I've seen have had one person who didn't really fit, but this time they were all in it together.

Yes! :D

They were all funny and made one another laugh, which I usually think is when panel shows are the best.

Wasn't it magnificent, Loz?

(I mean, I had a moment where I was like CHARLIE, YOU'VE LOST WEIGHT! but he may have always been that thin and it was just hidden by the clothes he wore for 10 O'Clock Live.)

My favourite HIGNFY hosts are always the ones that are off-the-wall choices that revel in the strangeness. The whole singing round was GENIUS.

ALSO HAVE YOU SEEN WOULD I LIE TO YOU YET? YOU WILL DIE FROM LEE/DAVID FEELINGS.

I JUST FINISHED WATCHING WILTY AND I LITERALLY ALMOST DIED FROM FORGETTING TO BREATHE, OMFG, JEN. OMFG. ALSO, I WAS WATCHING WITH MY PARENTS, SO, EMBARRASSMENT MUCH?

Charlie's definitely lost weight from 2010, but, yeah, I was wondering if it was hidden from too many clothes as well.

I saw the episode and thought it was awesome, but a bit like Shatner hamboning it up was taking away from the panelists chance to actually answer any of the questions.

I was struck by how much Charlie sounds like David Mitchell by accent and intonation. They even tend to have the same rising inflections when they get irate.
